Job Summary:

This position is responsible for recruiting and educating potential students about programs offered at Geisinger College of Health Sciences. Recruitment for and education regarding the School is done through attendance at high school and college fairs, national conferences, and individual school visits. The assistant director works directly with high school and undergraduate advisors to help students prepare for higher education.

Job Duties:

  • Participates in all aspects of recruitment for Geisinger College of Health Sciences programs.
  • Utilizes all admission information systems for the processing of admission inquiries through matriculation for the programs offered at Geisinger College of Health Sciences.
  • Assists in the development of admission recruitment plans with the Director and executes them to support institutional goals.
  • Participates in the screening process for assigned applicants, which includes the following:
  • Reviews admission applications, official transcripts, and other documents required for completion of the file.
  • Reviews completed applications.
  • Reads and evaluates applicant credentials to determine if the candidate should be further reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
  • Applies mission-aligned review policy to the evaluation of applicants.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with FERPA policies.
  • Participates in training including software, mission-aligned review and overview of the application process.
  • Supervises the undergraduate students participating in the Admissions Ambassador Program.
  • Coordinates and supports the undergraduate, graduate, and certificate interview days for prospective students.
  • Leads the planning and execution of on-campus undergraduate recruitment events including Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, and campus visits for prospective students for assigned degree programs.
  • Facilitates onboarding new students into GCHS by ensuring completion of all pre-enrollment requirements and assisting with updates to pre-enrollment and credentialing materials.
  • Manages the relationship and all processes and procedures with the approved integrated marketing communications vendor(s).
  • Plans and organizes open houses and campus tours, schedules campus tour dates, individual school visits and appointments in conjunction with other members of the Admissions team.
  • Participates in strategic planning efforts for admissions to the undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs and other areas as they relate to students.
  • Serves on Geisinger College of Health Sciences committees as appointed and prepares reports, proposals, and related correspondence as required.
