Full job description

The Account to Report (A2R) Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the functional expert and trusted advisor for specialized accounting processes within the A2R organization.

We are currently hiring for two SME positions:

  • SME - IFRS 15 Revenue Accounting

  • SME - IFRS 16 Lease Accounting

The successful candidate will provide technical accounting expertise, operational support, governance, process standardization, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement initiatives within their area of specialization. The role acts as an escalation point for complex accounting transactions, supports global process transformation activities, and ensures compliance with IFRS standards, internal controls, and company policies.

We welcome applications from professionals with strong expertise in either IFRS 15 Revenue Accounting or IFRS 16 Lease Accounting. Experience in both areas is not required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The IFRS 15 SME will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and evaluating customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under IFRS 15.

  • Assessing performance obligations, transaction prices, standalone selling prices, and contract modifications.

  • Supporting revenue accounting activities using SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) and related systems.

  • Reviewing deferred revenue, contract assets, contract liabilities, and accrued revenue balances.

  • Providing technical guidance on complex revenue recognition matters and accounting treatments.

  • Supporting internal and external audit requirements related to revenue accounting.

  • Interpret and apply IFRS 15 requirements to complex customer contracts and transactions.

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and disclosure requirements in financial statements.

  • Support system and process migration through testing and reviewing migrated balances prior to cut over

The IFRS 16 SME will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing lease agreements and assessing accounting treatment in accordance with IFRS 16.

  • Managing accounting for Right-of-Use (ROU) Assets and Lease Liabilities.

  • Reviewing lease modifications, reassessments, renewals, terminations, and impairment considerations.

  • Supporting lease accounting close activities, reconciliations, disclosures, and reporting.

  • Providing technical expertise on lease accounting matters and compliance requirements.

  • Supporting audit activities related to lease accounting processes and controls.

  • Perform data validation and reconciliation.

  • Support system and process migration through testing and reviewing migrated balances prior to cut over

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in Record-to-Report (R2R), Account-to-Report (A2R), Financial Reporting, Revenue Accounting, or Lease Accounting.

  • Demonstrated expertise in either IFRS 15 Revenue Accounting OR IFRS 16 Lease Accounting.

  • Experience in Shared Services, Global Business Services (GBS), multinational organizations, or complex finance environments.

  • Experience supporting process transitions, migrations, stabilization, or transformation initiatives is highly desirable.

  • Strong stakeholder management and process improvement experience.

  • Experience in process and system migration is a plus
