We currently have an opening for Quality Control Inspector I in our Dyco Electronics facility, located in Hornell, NY. This position is critical to the success of iNRCORE and will be responsible for supporting inspection activities to ensure materials and products meet established quality standards and customer requirements. The role will assist in maintaining product quality by performing routine inspections, documenting results, and identifying nonconformances in accordance with established procedures. This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor. The ideal candidate for this position should be detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn, with a basic understanding of inspection techniques and manufacturing processes.

Details of the Role: The position of Quality Control Inspector I will be responsible for supporting the inspection and verification of electrical components to ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements. During the course of a standard workday, you will be expected to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections; follow detailed work instructions and inspection criteria; record and report nonconformances; and work closely with production and quality teams to ensure that only conforming products move forward in the manufacturing process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished electrical components.

  • Utilize basic inspection tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and magnification devices.

  • Follow established inspection procedures, work instructions, and sampling plans.

  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures.

  • Identify and report nonconforming materials or products; assist with segregation and containment activities.

  • Support root cause investigations by providing accurate inspection data and observations.

  • Ensure traceability and proper labeling of inspected materials and products.

  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure proper handling of materials to prevent damage.

  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifying Attributes and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in quality or manufacturing is a plus.

  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality inspection environment preferred.

  • Basic understanding of quality inspection methods and tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret simple technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions (training provided as needed).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies.

  • Basic math skills for measurements and data recording.

  • Good organizational and documentation skills.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of inspection or ERP systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during inspection activities.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds.

  • Visual acuity, including close vision and color differentiation, to inspect small components and detect defects.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures (PPE required).
