Description

We are partnering with a boutique firm in Itasca, IL who is looking to hire a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support three attorneys who practice insurance defense and municipal law. This role is suited to someone who can keep case activity organized, manage competing deadlines, and produce accurate legal documents in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will contribute to daily legal operations by coordinating communications, maintaining records, and helping attorneys stay prepared for filings, hearings, and trial-related matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate attorney schedules by arranging meetings, court-related appointments, depositions, and other case activities while keeping calendars current.

  • Draft, revise, and review litigation materials, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery documents, and subpoenas, to ensure accuracy and proper formatting.

  • Submit legal filings through state and federal electronic filing systems and track confirmations, deadlines, and court responses.

  • Maintain complete and well-organized case records in both paper and digital formats so information is accessible and up to date.

  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and internal team members to support efficient case progress.

  • Gather case information, perform basic legal research, and compile supporting materials for attorney review and use.

  • Support trial and hearing preparation by organizing exhibits, assembling binders, coordinating logistics, and helping manage witness-related materials.

  • Monitor litigation timelines by tracking court dates, response deadlines, and other key milestones to help prevent missed obligations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranging from $60,000-69,000

  • Annual discretionary bonus

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3+ years of experience in litigation

  • Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required

  • Working knowledge of civil litigation processes, legal terminology, court rules, and electronic filing procedures
