Role Description

The Flexo Press Operator is a full-time, on-site role based at the following locations: Deer Park, NY, Fairfield,NJ, and Lakewood, NJ. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality labels and packaging in accordance with job specifications. Day-to-day tasks include:

Operating and maintaining flexographic printing presses.

Review job orders to make necessary adjustments to the printing machines.

Install components and supplies, such as ink rollers and printing plates, according to job specifications.

Test inks and paints on the printing surface to ensure their suitability.

Oversee the production of printed materials, including the printing and racking processes, to ensure they meet specifications and are completed on schedule.

Performing routine maintenance.

Troubleshoot equipment issues, including addressing abnormal noises.

Clean the printing press and its peripherals.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of printing processes, materials, and inks used in flexographic label and packaging production.

Effective troubleshooting abilities to identify, diagnose, and correct press issues, mechanical problems, and print defects during runs.

Understanding of pre-press workflows, including reading job tickets, working with plates and dielines, and coordinating with pre-press teams.

Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to follow safety and operational guidelines in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as needed, and work scheduled shifts, including potential overtime.

Previous flexo press or printing industry experience is strongly preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required, technical or vocational training in printing or manufacturing is a plus.
