Preferred (not required): Read And Interpret Weld Codes, Read And Interpret Blueprints, Collaborate With Manufacturing Engineers, and Work As A Team.

Full job description

We are looking for an Aluminum TIG welder who will support the manufacturing and fabrication process of Sportsman Boats with emphasis on aluminum.

What you will do:

  • Build t-tops, rod holders, leaning posts, etc. meeting high quality standards and daily production goals

  • Lay out, measure, and align metal work pieces prior to welding

  • Assess welds to ensure they are clean, free of error and in accordance with relevant welding codes

  • Read and interpret weld codes and blueprints

  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to address issues

  • Work as a team

To be considered you must have:

  • Aluminum tig welder knowledge and experience

  • Strong fabrication skills

  • Ability to assess metal structures to identify and initiate repair of damaged welds

  • Ability to follow instructions

  • Ability to use small tools, operating air/hand tools, welders, grinders and buffing machines

  • Close tolerance when measuring; strong attention to detail

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work as a team member

  • Ability to comply with safety guidelines

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, ever changing environment

  • Ability to complete a weld test during our onsite interview

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the marine/boating industry
