Job Description
Insight Global is hiring an Excavator to support a large-scale roadway and civil construction project at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. This individual will be responsible for performing excavation, grading, trenching, loading haul trucks, utility installation support, and earthmoving activities for road construction and civil infrastructure improvements. The ideal candidate has experience operating large excavators in heavy civil, roadway, site development, or utility construction environments and can work safely and efficiently around other heavy equipment and field crews. This is a fully on-site opportunity requiring 5, 8–10-hour shifts daily.
Day to day responsibilities

Operate hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently on active construction sites

Perform mass excavation, site grading, and earthmoving operations

Load articulated dump trucks and haul trucks with excavated material
-
Excavate for roadways, drainage systems, stormwater infrastructure, and utility installation

Shape slopes, ditches, embankments, and drainage feature according to project plans

Work closely with dozer, grader, compaction, and trucking crews to maintain production goals

Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and utility layouts

Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance

Maintain compliance with OSHA, USACE, and company safety requirements

Report equipment issues, hazards, and maintenance needs promptly

Skills and Requirements

3+ years’ experience operating excavators on heavy civil, roadway, site development, or utility projects

Experience with mass excavation, trenching, grading, and truck loading operations

Ability to safely excavate around existing and proposed utilities

Ability to pass a drug screen and background check • Experience working on federal construction projects

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certified
