Description: Purpose

Performs essential base-level tasks and functions related to service fulfillment, disinfection and sanitation in patient facing, ancillary or back-office areas Provides service, support, and colleague or customer support in accordance with level of experience, education, regulatory agency standards and established policies and procedures. Conducts daily functions in a compassionate, ethical and respectful manner. Supports patients, families, and guests in exceeding their expectations. Demonstrates the ability to deliver personalized care and service unique to the patients' and families' expectations/needs.

Essential Functions

Maintains a Working Knowledge of applicable federal, state & local laws / regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, as well as other policies, procedures & guidelines in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical & professional behavior & safe work practices.

Functional Role (not inclusive of titles or advancement career progression)

  • Follows standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines to ensure proper preparation of food items and storage, meeting food safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Ensures food preparation areas are clean, sanitized, and orderly. Utilizes proper chemical and cleaning/sanitation techniques.

  • Reads the production tally and menu, efficiently organizing the workload while communicating with supervisors and team members to review the menu and special orders, assisting in establishing the production schedule and determining the quantities of food items needed.

  • Maintains an efficient workflow while cooking on the line and prepares meals using batch cooking, large quantity cooking, and short-order cooking techniques.

  • Properly documents leftover foods, label/dates products, accurately logs temperature of foods, and accurately completes production records, noting prepared and leftover amounts. Ensures that department supplies are fully stocked.

  • Operates the cash register system for transactions and information input. Identifies prices of goods and issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma. Serve Safe Certified or obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Food handlers’ certification within 6 months of hire. One year restaurant/institution cooking or one year of retail store cashiering.

Additional Qualifications (nice to have)

Previous large volume cooking experience and line cooking experience.
