Summary About the Position: This position is located at US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), Fort Bragg NC. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Planning, directing, managing, and supervising all protocol operations across the full range of protocol activities for the command. Managing and administers the overall command protocol program with full technical authority on materials and actions pertaining to protocol functions. Applying knowledge of protocol matters to include national and international roles, procedures and forms prescribing traditional and formal diplomatic customs, courtesies and etiquette for distinguished visitors. Plans and participates in the physical arrangement aspects of events that include budgeting, guest lists, invitations, menu selections, reciprocal gestures, facility/room arrangements, RSVPs, seating arrangements, place cards, name tags, proper placements of required flags, appropriate decorations and entertainment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Relocation Incentive may be authorized. Recruitment Incentive may be authorized. Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
