Description:
Position Purpose:
Are you a friendly, organized professional who loves helping people feel welcomed and cared for? Join our Farmington Primary Care team as a Business Services Representative and become an essential part of our patients’ healthcare experience! As the first point of contact, you’ll create a warm and welcoming environment—whether greeting patients in person or assisting them over the phone. In this key role, you’ll manage appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and collect copays and payments at the time of service. You’ll also coordinate pre-authorizations, referrals, and help prepare charts to ensure smooth and efficient visits. Your attention to detail and commitment to outstanding customer service will help keep our practice running efficiently while supporting our providers in delivering compassionate, high-quality primary care to the Farmington community.
What you will do:
- Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
- Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
- Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
- Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred
- Excellent keyboard skills. Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products. Accuracy and dependability required. Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred.
