Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

Join our dynamic Operations Team as a Bar Saw Operator in Southington, CT. As a Bar Saw Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating saws to cut materials accurately and safely as per customer orders.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety in all tasks performed.

  • Organize work orders to ensure efficient material processing.

  • Transport material throughout the warehouse using forklifts and cranes.

  • Set up machines by selecting appropriate nozzles, setting speeds, and feeds.

  • Measure material using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.

  • Verify that source materials processed are correct in location and type.

  • Conduct first piece and in-process inspections in line with quality sampling plans.

  • Stack and sort finished products for packaging.

  • Pack and protect materials for shipment.

  • Clean saws according to maintenance procedures.

  • Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by the supervisor.

Essential Skills

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

  • History of working safely and productively.

  • Experience in warehouse, material handling, and forklift operation required.

  • Previous machining or related experience strongly preferred.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to read and understand English for work instructions.

  • Basic math skills for converting decimals and fractions, and using tape measures and calipers accurately.

  • Dependable, punctual, and collaborative team player.

  • Willingness to work required overtime.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, landscaping, or general labor is preferred.

  • Open attitude to cross-training and taking on necessary tasks.

Work Environment

Operate in a fast-paced and clean facility that prioritizes safety. The dress code is casual and comfortable. This role involves working the 3rd shift from Sunday to Thursday, 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM, with a 30-minute unpaid meal break. Must be able to lift 75 lbs or more.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.54 - $27.87/hr.
