Full job description
nOps is the leading FinOps platform helping enterprises manage and optimize over $4B in cloud spend across AWS, Azure, and GCP. We are a Series B growth stage startup building modern, AI-powered infrastructure to help our customers save money on their cloud investments.
About the Role
We are looking for a Commercial Counsel to join our team and take ownership of the contracts side of our legal function. You will work closely with our General Counsel, sales team, and leadership to draft, negotiate, and manage the agreements that keep our business moving. This is a hands on role where you will touch every enterprise deal that comes through nOps.
What You Will Do
-
Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS agreements, MSAs, DPAs, SOWs, order forms, and NDAs
-
Partner with sales leadership to move enterprise deals through contract negotiation quickly and cleanly
-
Manage vendor and partner agreements including reseller and channel partner contracts
-
Support the sales team as a trusted advisor on contract structure, redlines, and negotiation strategy
-
Own contract intake, tracking, and playbook development to scale legal operations as we grow
-
Collaborate with security, privacy, and compliance teams on contract terms related to data protection and cloud infrastructure
-
Continuously improve our contract templates, playbooks, and processes
What We Are Looking For
-
You have 2 to 5 years of experience as an attorney with a real focus on commercial contracts, and you love this work
-
You hold a JD from an accredited law school and are actively admitted to the bar in at least one US state
-
You have negotiated SaaS enterprise agreements and can walk into a redline conversation with confidence
-
You thrive working shoulder to shoulder with sales and revenue teams in a fast paced startup environment
-
You have strong instincts for when to hold the line versus when to move fast to close a deal
-
You are comfortable owning your workload, juggling multiple deals in flight, and making judgment calls without needing a playbook for every situation
Nice to Have
-
Prior experience in a SaaS or cloud infrastructure company
-
Familiarity with FinOps, cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), or FinTech
-
Experience with contract lifecycle management tools (Ironclad, LinkSquares, Docusign CLM)
-
Data privacy or security certifications
Why nOps
-
You will help shape and build our contracts function from the ground up as we scale, with real ownership from day one
-
We are a Series B growth stage company with strong customer traction, managing over $4B in cloud spend across our customer base
-
Our team is fully remote across the US, and we operate with a startup mindset where curiosity, initiative, and cross functional collaboration are rewarded
-
You will work directly with our General Counsel, sales leadership, and executive team on the deals that move our business forward
-
Modern engineering culture that leans into AI as a core part of how we work every day
