Senior Analyst, Customer Insights & Analytics
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Analyze internal and external data to uncover single and multi-price point white space and assortment opportunities across the Dollar Tree categories to drive incremental traffic and sales while assisting with trends analysis to help build business narratives. As the organization looks to increase and improve customer relative assortment, it is necessary to deliver support to the merchants to understand performance of current market items and potential incremental opportunities. Dedicated individuals to the mining of this data are imperative to the successful integration of the right new items for our shopper. Equally important is a deeper understanding of customer insights and segmentation to inform our go-to-market marketing strategies to improve efficiency and results.
ESSENTIAL ACTIVIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the development and execution of merchandising strategies and decision making by delivering timely, accurate, and actionable insights derived from syndicated data and customer research.

Support strategic initiatives with rigorous analytics, utilizing third party data sources including Nielsen, Numerator, 1010, Circana, and customer research.

Ability to pull data from several different business sources, provide deep analysis and insights, and build narratives to properly communicate market and Dollar Tree situational details and trends.

Assist in the development and maintenance of daily and weekly reporting tools, Power BI dashboards, and custom hierarchies that drive performance visibility across departments.

Organize and evaluate large data sets to assist with the development of “white space” and assortment recommendations to drive traffic and sales.

Collect and utilize new customer insights to further define customer segmentation and to inform marketing plans to improve efficiency and results.

Connect the dots between customer insights, data, and analytics to proactively identify key assortment or marketing changes to improve results.

Partner with Big Chalk to assist with deeper understanding of marketing plan measurement and brand health studies for future optimizations to improve results.

Assist with senior leader presentations by preparing data driven content and providing analysis leading to proactive recommendations.

Assist in customer research initiatives and performance analysis to inform marketing strategies and optimize campaign effectiveness.

Help support the development and execution of customer segmentation and insights strategies that drive personalized marketing and enhance customer engagement.

Help lead training efforts with merchandising and marketing resources to promote best practices in data interpretation and usage.

Identify, prioritize, and initiate data collection process improvements to improve team efficiency.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelors Degree (BA / BS/ BFA) or equivalent, and 1-3 years experience.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Able to generate and evaluate hypotheses and create narratives for senior leaders.

Must have hands-on data mining experience using at least one of the following platforms: Nielsen, Circana, Numerator, or 1010data.

Detail-oriented. Comfortable working with numerical data and information.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated initiative, independent thinker and worker.

Team player in a collaborative environment.

Deadline oriented. Ability to anticipate and address conflicts, to skillfully negotiate, and deliver great outcomes.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products especially Excel and PowerPoint.

**Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The company is unable to sponsor employment visas for this position at this time or in the future.
Start Rate = $105,000 - $118,500K based on experience plus 20% bonus and equity.
