Job Description
The Boiler Mechanic MD Grade 1 constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs stationary steam boilers, closed vats, and pressure vessels at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.
Key Job Functions
-
Read blueprints to assemble boiler tanks and connect pipe systems, valves, and gauges using welding equipment and hand tools.

Perform routine preventive maintenance like cleaning vats, replacing defective tubes, lubricating moving parts, and ensuring proper water chemical balance.

Diagnose malfunctions, conduct pressure tests, and replace broken components to prevent leaks and inefficient operation.

Regulate equipment, adjust controls, and maintain logs of fuel usage and pressure levels to meet Stationary Engineers and Boiler Operators safety and environmental standards.

Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent
-
Must have at least 5 years of experience of operating and maintaining boiler plants and at least 2 years operating and maintaining boiler plants as MD Grade 1 Stationary Engineer

Must be licensed as Maryland (MD) Stationary Engineer Grade 1 - 500 or more horsepower (in any building)

Must submit license(s) with resume

Ability to lift heavy objects, navigate tight confined spaces, work at heights, and withstand high-pressure, high-temperature environments

Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Must be able to pass a government background check
