Overview
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Data Analyst to join our Human Resources team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will leverage advanced analytics, statistical methods, and data visualization tools to uncover insights that drive business decisions and enhance the employee experience.
This position is ideal for a data-driven professional who enjoys solving complex business challenges, working with large datasets, building dashboards, and communicating meaningful insights to stakeholders across the organization.

Our Human Resources team is dedicated to supporting our most valuable asset: our employees. We collaborate across departments and with global partners to develop data-informed strategies that improve organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Collect, clean, and transform data from multiple sources.

Conduct large-scale data analysis using statistical and mathematical techniques.

Identify trends, actionable insights, and business recommendations.

Build dashboards and visualizations that effectively communicate findings.

Develop hypotheses, test analytical models, and evaluate outcomes.

Write and execute SQL queries and Python scripts for data extraction and analysis.

Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.

Assemble large and complex data sets to support business requirements.

Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models.

Document data processes, methodologies, and solutions.

Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.

Collaborate with analysts and cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives.

Stay current with emerging analytics technologies and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields or a related quantitative discipline:

Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience will also be considered.
Experience

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data analytics or a related field.

At least 2 years of hands-on experience using:

SQL

Python
-
Experience using analytical and visualization tools such as Tableau.

Proven ability to solve business problems using data analysis and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Skywise, Excel, MATLAB, R, or SAS.

Familiarity with XML, JSON, and other semi-structured data formats.

Knowledge of database design, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
-
Exposure to machine learning techniques and predictive analytics.
-
Certification such as Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or equivalent is a plus.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule with approximately 80% onsite and 20% remote work .

Ability to work in both office and production environments as needed.

Candidates must be able to perform essential job functions, including extended computer use, occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs., and travel as required.
