Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support a large manufacturing facility in the Sheboygan area as part of a contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role. This role serves as a key advisor to leaders and employees, helping strengthen workplace culture, address employee relations matters, and align HR practices with business needs. The position also contributes to broader HR initiatives through reporting, analysis, onboarding support, and partnership with operational leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for a major site with a workforce of more than 400 employees, providing day-to-day guidance across a wide range of people matters.

  • Advise managers and employees on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and other employee relations issues while supporting fair and consistent outcomes.

  • Conduct and support investigations related to employee concerns, policy violations, and other sensitive workplace matters, documenting findings and recommended actions.

  • Assist with onboarding activities, including completing I-9 verification during orientation and helping ensure a smooth new employee experience.

  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to address staffing, retention, performance, and team development needs from a strategic HR perspective.

  • Use workforce data and reporting to identify trends, highlight risks, and recommend actions that improve engagement, performance, and retention.

  • Collaborate with specialized HR teams such as talent acquisition, compensation, wellness, and organizational development to coordinate programs and resources for the facility.

  • Contribute to HR department projects and operational priorities, helping advance team goals and improve overall HR effectiveness.

  • Provide leadership and day-to-day direction to HR support staff while promoting compliance with employment laws and company policies.

Requirements • Experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or similar human resources role supporting a large employee population.

  • Strong background in employee relations, including coaching leaders, resolving workplace issues, and handling investigations.

  • Working knowledge of HR policy administration, performance management, and core HR processes.

  • Ability to build credibility with operational leaders and confidently provide HR guidance in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience using HR data, metrics, and reporting to support decisions and identify workforce trends.

  • Familiarity with onboarding and employment compliance requirements, including I-9 documentation.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
