Volunteer Description:
Volunteers at Intermountain Healthcare serve in a variety of meaningful capacities that support our patients, visitors, and staff. As an unpaid volunteer, you contribute valuable time and talent that truly make a difference in our organization.
The volunteer program requires the following:

A minimum six‑month consecutive commitment.

3–4 hours weekly.
-
Consistent attendance.
-
16 years of age.
-
Work alone and independently.
-
Good communication and listening skills.
-
Ability to follow instructions.
-
Ability to work with diverse populations.
-
Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing).
-
Adequate hearing and vision.
-
Sensitive to patient and family situations.
Volunteer opportunities are available in a variety of service areas based on current need, including:

Guest Services - Engaging with individuals consistently, helping them find their way within the facility and to their appointments, maybe even escort them in a wheelchair.

Department Support - Assisting patients and staff on an individual nursing unit.

Surgical Waiting Room - Keeping guests updated regarding their patient having surgery.

Emergency Room - Assisting patients/staff in the Emergency Room, meeting their needs.

Gift Shop Assistant - Assisting customers with their purchases, pricing items, and using the cash register.

Music - Playing an instrument in the Hospital Lobby.

Transportation (Golf Cart) - Escorting guests within the facility and the campus.

Courtesy Cart - Offering items of comfort to patients within the hospital.
