We are seeking a motivated and hands-on individual to join our team as an entry-level Wind Farm Service Technician. This role is a unique opportunity for those with a strong interest in technology and renewable energy to start a career in the wind industry, regardless of prior technical experience. You will receive comprehensive, on-the-job training to learn how to maintain and service advanced wind turbine technology. As a Wind Farm Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, conducting inspections, and assisting with the troubleshooting and repair of wind turbine systems. Working under the guidance of senior technicians, you will learn to use various tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure the safety, quality, and optimal performance of our wind farm assets. This role requires working at heights and in a variety of weather conditions as part of a dedicated team. The ideal candidate is a proactive learner with a strong mechanical aptitude and an unwavering commitment to safety. You must be able to work collaboratively within a team, follow technical procedures with precision, and be eager to develop new skills. How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Performs mainly pre-defined, technical tasks (for example, basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance jobs) and work packages on-site and remotely.

  • Supports customer remotely and onsite, and provides 2nd and 3rd level user support in case of arising issues.

  • Coordinates and accomplishes defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customers equipment.

  • Work in stressful, dangerous situations, and participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices work on wind power projects.

  • Flexible travel schedule up to 10-25% travel. Complete and maintain required and accurate documentation and records.

  • Flexibility to work outside planned hours, including nights and weekends as needed and on-call

  • Work in varying temperature conditions, and adverse weather conditions.

What You Bring

  • Some experience into related field Climb Wind towers (up to 300 feet) multiple times and at times without climbing aids or lifts preferred.

  • Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license.

  • Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces

  • Willing to travel up to 25%

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 lbs. or less as required by the equipment safety regulations.

  • Must pass a physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
