Position Summary
Collaborates with business partners to learn skills required to maintain, repair, and overhaul trailers and equipment.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains systems and parts associated with class 6,7, and 8 diesel-powered tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
- Diagnosis failures and makes repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other vehicles.
- Operates and uses specialized equipment
- Uses hydraulic jacks to lift heavy trucks and cars to perform maintenance work underneath the vehicles.
- Troubleshoots and repairs heavy truck engines, braking, electrical, cooling, and exhausting systems.
- Assists in maintaining accurate records of repairs, schedules, and parts inventory.
- Follows safety protocols and procedures when handling heavy equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of hand tool repairs on class 6,7, and 8 trucks.
Pay Rate: 29.75 - 34.25 per hour, based on experience
