A Driver Trainer provides mentoring and training for new drivers to learn the processes and procedures of Dot Foods/Dot Transportation pertaining to all driving, pickup, and delivery responsibilities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
-
Mentor and train new drivers in DTI processes and procedures
-
Understand and train drivers in the safe operation of all equipment
-
Desire to Coach others and want to help others be successful in the driving industry

Attend Driver "Train the Trainer" courses
-
Track progress of assigned new drivers and provide feedback to those drivers and transportation leadership
-
Train drivers in need of recurrent and subsequent training as needed

Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position
YOU MUST HAVE
-
Minimum of one year service with Dot Transportation, Inc.
-
Minium of one year of driving experience
-
Meet all legal and regulatory requirements for DTI truck driver
-
Good interpersonal skills
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
-
An understanding of appropriate management of paperwork, hours of service regulations, idle time, speed, MPG, and overall safety requirements

Mechanical experience
ROLE SPECIFICS

Flexibility in working with the training schedule, and in changing driving assignments to meet training schedule needs.

Attend training activities and offsite meetings. Must be able to travel independently without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, and train.
