Full job description

The Engineering Test Technician supports engineering activities by performing foundational technical tasks under the direction and supervision of an engineer. This role focuses primarily on maintaining production test fixtures, test equipment and test programs for production, generates ECO (engineering change) to implement new production models or calibrations, adapts current production tests for new product in development. Some light assembly, and construction will be required to maintain or create new test rack(s), station(s). The Technician applies basic electrical, software and mechanical principles, conducts calculations, follows mechanical prints and models, compiles and organizes test data, and prepares test equipment. Additional responsibilities include helping the R&D lab, assisting customers as needed, and supporting pre-production activities. Success in this role requires dependable on-site attendance, effective teamwork, and the ability to positively engage with coworkers while providing direct technical support to Engineering & Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform basic technical assignments under the direction and supervision of an engineering supervisor. predominantly maintaining test equipment and programs for current products, developing test equipment and releasing test SW for new products.

  • Maintain and update test scripts, written in VB and C#, for inverter and motor production testing.

  • Maintain clam-shell text fixtures for PCB Assembly level testing.

  • Solid experience with programming electrical test equipment for test automation.

  • Work with SW and Test Development teams to release production SW and Calibration.

  • Provide technical assistance for production team to address test and yield issues.

  • Able to follow electrical, mechanical prints and models.

  • Make calculations employing mathematical formulas and basic statistical to establish new test limits and FTQs.

  • Duties consist mainly of closely supervised assignments in direct support of an engineer, usually in a specific field requiring the application of basic technical fundamentals.

  • Must be able to positively relate and interact with co-workers.

  • Able to work a full shift with regular attendance at the business location.

  • Involvement in pre-production as required.

What we’re looking for

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field 6 years or more of experience in electrical or engineering testing

  • OR equivalent combination of technical schooling + hands-on experience

  • 3–5+ years of relevant test technician, engineering technician, or manufacturing test experience. Ability to perform arithmetic, statistical calculations for test reports.

  • Experience supporting engineers in R&D, validation, or production test environments

  • Ability to use computer software for design and data recording.

Salary Range:

$52,800 - $74,250
