Job Duties

Maintain a safe and ethical work environment

Manage 20-30 production staff including hiring, work scheduling, training, and performance reviews

Use ERP software (Kinetic by Epicor) to manage production schedule and work execution; utilize production data to make informed decisions

Expedite jobs and support customer communications through customer service

Oversee supply chain activities for raw materials, manufactured purchases, outside services, and out-going shipments to customers

Continually improve manufacturing systems to drive cost reduction, on time-delivery, and world class quality

Maintain a clean and reliable manufacturing facility; lead major repair of production equipment and preventative maintenance program; serve on the maintenance committee

Provide weekly and monthly production reporting to management

Manage work in process, raw material, and finished goods inventory

Lead the safety committee and maintain OSHA compliance

Communicate well with both internal and external stakeholders

Maintain a positive and productive working relationship with all HFI departments

Complete other duties as assigned

Minimum Education Required

A bachelor’s degree in operations management, engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent experience is preferred.

Minimum Experience Required

Must be able to successfully lead the execution of production in a contract manufacturing, metal fabrication environment. This includes operation within an ERP-based, schedule and job management system. The Production manager oversees all production staff, machine operation, preventative maintenance, supply chain, and shipping functions. Excellent communication skills, results orientation, procedure development, and strong computer skills are required for this role. Prior experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, continuous improvement, leadership, and problem-solving skills are also important.
