Pay Grade: 45B ($20.47 min. hourly) Work Days: 261
Primary Purpose:
Assist in the movement of fixed assets throughout all district buildings
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent Texas Driver's License with CDL endorsement Driving record that is insurable with PISD insurance carrier Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to communicate with others in a positive, customer-focused manner Knowledge of basic furniture moving techniques and warehouse operations Basic computer knowledge Ability to read and interpret documents and problem solve Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse operations Minimum of 1 year of experience as a warehouse driver Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Pick up and deliver fixed asset items to district buildings daily, including hot shot deliveries Load and unload trucks, as needed; address discrepancies and item damage, and submit timely reports Wrap/protect all furniture and secure in truck to allow for safe moving. Some furniture disassembly may be required Obtain signatures of campus/department staff on paperwork at time of pick-up or delivery Maintain job tickets/work orders and submit daily Secure, store, and keep updated quantities of available surplus items in warehouse Maintain working knowledge of warehouse equipment, and keep warehouse clean, neat, and free of safety hazards, and promptly report any unsafe conditions Support the annual physical inventories of Instructional Materials Warehouse and Distribution Services Maintain knowledge in all areas of warehouse operations Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; operate tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures Maintain PISD vehicle in safe operating condition and perform weekly vehicle inspection and submit to supervisor Perform other functions and duties that may be assigned by the administration and/or supervisor Supervisor Experience:
None Equipment Used:
PISD vehicle; computer; digital camera; forklift; pallet jack; dolly; basic hand tools; shrink wrap machine; and other material-handling equipment Working Conditions: Mental and Physical Demands/Environmental factors:
Frequent district-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; work indoors and outdoors to conduct on-site inspections of all District facilities. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, stooping and kneeling; possible lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds. Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.
