About the Position: This position is located at Schofield Barracks Desmond T Doss Health Clinic, HI. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Pediatrics): Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized Experience: Conducting psycho-diagnostic assessments to pediatric or adolescent population; providing crisis intervention to an individual or group setting; and assisting with developing treatment plans.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Special Placement Factor: Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and implement specialized procedures to address developmental, emotional, and behavioral disorders that interfere with children’s ability to benefit from educational programs. Evaluate acute mental health needs and provide crisis intervention to reduce psychological distress. Select, approve, and document treatment priorities through a treatment plan Contribute to program evaluation, policy development, and organizational decision-making by providing expert insight into behavioral health issues across pediatric and family populations. Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary treatment planning to ensure coordinated, stepped-care across the system. Screen and interview children, adolescents, and family members, and utilize psychometric instruments in the assessment of psychological disorders typically affecting children and adolescents. Execute performance initiatives (PI) through revision of clinical standards and procedures. Provide expert professional consultation to primary care providers and other professional staff regarding the psychological functioning of children, adolescents, and families Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
