School Physical Therapist | K-12 School Setting | Leave Coverage

Position: Physical Therapist (PT)

Setting: School-Based (K-12)

Schedule: Up to 37.5 Hours per Week

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Start Date: January 4, 2027

Pay Rate: Up to $70/hour (Local)

Interview: Virtual Interview with SPED Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for a school-based leave coverage assignment beginning January 4, 2027. The Physical Therapist will be responsible for evaluating students, developing therapy recommendations, and providing services in accordance with each student's individualized plan of care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist seeking flexibility, as the position can be structured as either part-time or full-time and offers a very low caseload.

Assignment Details

  • 13-week leave coverage assignment

  • K-12 student population

  • Up to 37.5 hours per week

  • Part-time or full-time schedule options available

  • Very low caseload

  • Virtual interview with Special Education Director

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical therapy evaluations and assessments

  • Develop and implement therapy services based on student needs and individualized plans

  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

  • Monitor student progress and provide recommendations as needed

  • Participate in IEP meetings and related educational planning activities

  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Physical Therapist license in the state of practice

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy

  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR certification if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray if applicable

  • Current health certificate as required by contract or state regulation

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of prior professional Physical Therapy experience
