A Brief Overview

Responsible for providing efficient and effective guidance and supervision of all staff in the Facility Services Department. This Manager will coordinate functions, activities, schedules, solve procedural problems and be required to make independent decisions concerning emergency situations. Facility Services Manager Will be responsible for the Physical Plant Operations of these off campus facilities, electrical, and mechanical services, physical structure, pneumatic tube systems, boilers, HVAC, generators, fuel and utility distribution. All activities will be in accordance with State and Federal regulations, facility policies and procedures.

What you will do

  • Coordinates and conducts staff on-the-job training / orientation for Facility Services staff along with other Facility Services Managers.

  • Performs the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Quality Assurance Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines or as may be required by the law.

  • Communicates with the staff frequently and reports feedback in a timely fashion to the Facility Service Director.

  • Assumes routine daily management responsibilities in the absence of leadership.

  • Participates in staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency within the Facility Services Department.

  • Coordinates the scheduling process and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency.

  • Assists the leadership in the implementation and planning and development of the annual department budget (i.e. capital equipment needs).

  • Maintains clinical competence in order to serve as a resource to the staff. This may include but is not limited to: performing a broad variety of general housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed; maintaining daily log of activities; responding to emergency codes and security requests.

  • Ensures that buildings and grounds are in good condition, and meet all applicable building and life safety codes.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent

  • Drivers License - Licensing Board

  • A minimum of one year related experience or training
