Job Description

Responsible for directing, managing, and monitoring the overall plant operations with general responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities; perform quality reviews of the various functions; ensure facility and customer expectations are met or exceeded; determine the risks associated with production and develop contingencies based on the needs of the customer; allocate workload if necessary to ensure all teams are fully staffed and able to complete work goals; set long-term goals and objectives for the facility; anticipate and plan for future endeavors; attain production goals and efficiencies while controlling and reducing costs with full plant responsibility; interact with vendors, nearby customers, and suppliers to ensure the plant provides superior customer service; optimize plant profitability, production, quality, and service to exceed industry standards and secure a market leadership position; direct production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plant; develop plans for the efficient use of materials, machines, and human resources; research best industry practices in all areas of the operation, and modify and implement them into the facility; drive the budget development process and develop strategies to achieve organization goals; define projects, schedules, and strategies to impact production cost, quality, and performance; calculate labor and equipment requirements and production specifications using standard formulas; utilize Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma Green Belt, Minitab, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, Cost reduction initiatives, and IATF 16949 Lead Auditor to perform duties; confer with various departments to resolve problems, complaints, or grievances; confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments; direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production; strive for continuous improvement of processes; direct and coordinate plant operations while adhering to company policies and procedures; establish and maintain a positive community and customer relationships; determine methodologies and strategies to foster a well-trained and motivated staff that includes both hourly and salaried workers; confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping; act as the central point-of-contact for our customers and suppliers; conduct employee performance reviews; schedule and conduct plant meetings to keep employees abreast of the outlook of the plant and discuss long-term goals; attend scheduled corporate trainings, meetings and community events; and direct and oversee both the processes and working relationships needed to be maintained to ensure that the facility is operating at its optimal level in a just-in-time manufacturing environment.

Location: 521 Industry Road, Suite 100, Louisville, KY 40208;

Salary: $212,000 per year;

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as an Operations Manager, as a Plant Quality Manager, as a Supplier Development Specialist, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year’s use of all the following: Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma Green Belt, Minitab, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, Cost reduction initiatives, and IATF 16949 Lead Auditor.

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
