Job Description
CNC MachinistLocation: Moorpark, CA | 2nd Shift | Reports to: Machine Shop Supervisor
EBA&D seeks a qualified CNC Machinist to join our team in Moorpark, CA. This position is responsible for fabricating precision-machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machining centers and lathes in accordance with work orders, routers, and blueprints. Most parts are small in size, with run quantities ranging from 10 to 500 pieces.
Responsibilities

Evaluate blueprints and develop machining strategies.

Identify and select appropriate tooling for hardware.

Design and create fixturing to support machining operations.

Perform first-piece machine setups for inspection readiness.

Verify part conformance using precision measuring equipment.

Adjust tools and offsets based on cutting conditions.

Apply proper methodology, feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters for various materials (aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, etc.).

Set up multi-spindle lathes with live tooling.
-
Set up 5-axis mills through first-part verification.
-
Revise programs as needed based on engineering or production changes.

Troubleshoot CNC programming and production issues on the shop floor.

Machine both prototype (one-off) and production hardware.

Deburr parts as necessary.

Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements

Minimum high school education or equivalent.
-
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
-
Must be able to meet all ITAR and BATFE background requirements.
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and mills.
-
Strong background in complex machine setups.
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience running manual mills and lathes with little to no supervision (preferred).
-
Experience machining titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and other standard aerospace materials.
-
Experience with CNC Swiss-type (screw machines) a plus.
-
Experience with ESPRIT or Mastercam programming software a plus.
-
Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection tools.

Ability to work independently; prior lead experience a plus.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data
