Salary Range: $22.00 To $24.00 Hourly

Compost Attendant/ Equipment Operator

Starting Pay: $22/ hour

This is a hands-on position in the Compost department at our Wayne County location in Wolcott, NY. We're your local egg producer!

The Equipment Operator/ Compost Attendant l is the entry-level Compost Attendant position to learn and become familiar with the Kreher compost and fertilizer facilities, machinery, and equipment, and to perform under direct supervision, the operation and cleaning of composting equipment. The goal is to assist in safely and efficiently processing manure into compost. The secondary responsibility is to assist with keeping equipment in top condition through cleaning and basic preventative maintenance. The Compost Attendant I will work with the Compost Attendant II and Compost Team Leader to begin learning how to fix compost machinery and to learn the operation of a skid steer and payloader, under direct supervision.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

  • This individual is expected to have a strong aptitude for operating equipment (Payloader, Skid steer, dump truck)

  • Excellent organizational skills A high degree of initiative.

  • Able to work independently when proficient with job duties.

  • Class B Driver's license preferred
