This departmentis responsible forconducting computed tomography (CT) scans, providing detailed images of internal organs, bones, soft tissue, and blood vessels to help diagnose andmonitorvarious conditions.
Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy toassistdiagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures, computerprocessingand related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service andmaintainsa demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditionsin order toprovideappropriate patientcare to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.
Description:
Produces high-quality CT images while ensuringaccurateimage archiving and documentation.
Performs equipment quality control, troubleshooting, andmaintainsrequired supplies.
Verifies patient information, performs CT exams, and follows established imaging protocols.
Performs venipuncture, monitors patients, and documents procedures and patient care.
Applies radiation safety standards, including ALARA and pediatric imaging guidelines.
Assistsradiologists with procedures and completes post-processing asrequired.
Coordinates patient workflow to support efficient departmental operations.
Assistswith staff training, student supervision, and protocol development.
Maintains compliance with accreditation, regulatory, safety, and infection prevention standards.
Participates in required education, emergency preparedness, and departmental training.
Requirements:
Associate degree and graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Registered Technologist in Radiography [RT(R)]
Kentucky Radiation License - Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (within90 daysof hire)
Advanced ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) (within one year of hire)
