Job Description:
- Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
- Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
- Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
- Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
- Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
- Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
- Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
- Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.
- Helps in draping sterile field.
- Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures.
- Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
- Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
