Full job description

We are hiring a Business Office Manager to join our dynamic care team at Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in North Easton!

Southeast Rehab is a 171-bed skilled nursing facility. Weekly pay. SNF experience required. Salaried role up to $37 an hour with weekly pay.

As the Business Office Manager, you oversee the day-to-day accounting functions.

Education & Experience:

  • Must possess an associate’s degree in Accounting and/or an equivalent of two (2) years training and experience in health care accounting, billing & collections.

  • Must have as a minimum two (2) years experience in bookkeeping or accounting practice.

  • Experience in health care accounting preferred but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Bill and collect all patient accounts.

  • Balancing and updating the monthly closing.

  • Communicate all potential account issues with the administrator and the regional finance team.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all job descriptions within the department.

  • Discuss billing situations with residents and/or responsible parties.

  • Stay current with intermediary procedural changes.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including all accounts, journals, deposits, ledgers, etc.

  • Maintain accurate census data.

  • Secure all cash and valuables on hand.

Specific Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

  • Must be able to type 45 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator.

  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing sound accounting techniques.

  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing accounting practices.
