Description: CNA – Certified Nurse Assistant
Location: Saint Francis LIFE College Avenue, Newark, DE Status: Full time Shift: Mon to Fri, 7:30 am to 4 pm, no night/weekend/on call/holidays Incentives: $ 2,500 Sign on Bonus and 1st Day Health Benefits
Position Purpose: The certified nurse assistant is responsible for providing various care services necessary for attending to the personal needs, support, and health status of participants.
Position Details: This position qualifies for a $2500 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment. The 3 installments are paid out over the two-year commitment period.
This position will be housed primarily at the LIFE College Avenue facility. However, occasional home care assignments may be required.
What you will do:

Provide personal care assistance maintaining the independence of the participant to conduct activities of daily living, including toileting, showers, eating, and grooming.
-
Assist participants in the maintenance of physical activity, exercise, and walking.
-
Provide behavioral supervision or support for participants, such as reality orientation, reminder to follow through with nursing and medication instruction, diet restrictions, and emotional reassurance.

Assist with general activities such as conversing with participants, recreation activities, meal and snack serving, and housekeeping.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Must be an active certified nurse assistant in Delaware.

Valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle required for home care assignments.

Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.

Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE. organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.

Must manage conflict well, be customer focused and be able to adapt to ongoing change with regard to work priorities.

Demonstrates superior written/verbal communication skills appropriate for audience comprehension and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.

Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.

Position may require 10% travel within the Centers geographic region.

Position requires ability to engage in frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 20 pounds if applicable.
