  • GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) coordinates and participates in a variety of complex technical tasks in the performance of laboratory tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This is a generalist position, which includes microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, hematology, coagulations, and some phlebotomy.

  • EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology/Laboratory Science, chemical, biological or related degree or 2 year Associate’s Degree in Laboratory Science or related degree required.

  • Board certification (ASCP, NCA, AMT) as a MLS, MT, CLS, or MLT is required.

  • Basic Life Support required.

  • In addition to meeting the educational and/or license requirement(s) associated with this position, must be able to provide documentation (copy of transcript or diploma) to verify completion of education. At a minimum, documentation provided must be for the applicable college diploma(s) and board certifications obtained.

  • WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated competence in the area of laboratory procedures required.

  • A minimum of 6 months clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

  • Significant skill and knowledge in Laboratory Information System (LIS) applications/automated technology is preferred.

Salary Range: $29.24-$40.94
