Job Description:
- Prepares sterile dressings and clean instruments for terminal sterilization.
- Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
- Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
- Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Other duties as assigned.
- Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
- Obtains scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
- Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
- Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
- Gowns and gloves the surgeon and assistants.
- Assists in draping the sterile field. Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure.
- Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
- $10,000 Sign on bonus for eligible applicants.
- Relocation bonus for eligible applications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Interpersonal Skills [Required]
- Completion of validation skills [Required]
- Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up [Required]
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques [Required]
- Laser skills/training [Required]
- Able to precept and act as resource person and preceptor in multiple surgical specialties [Preferred]
- Minimum of three years scrub experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical service [Required]
- Demonstrated specialization in one or more surgical areas as determined by Director [Required]
- Proficient in the English language [Required]
- Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia, surgical site infection prevention, emergency code cart, high and low level disinfection, clinical alarms, medication management, isolation precautions, surgical care of patients age (0-100+), fire safety, AIDET, and SBAR [Required]
Education:
- Associate [Preferred]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Pay Range:
$23.71 - $44.09 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
