Description

Position Summary : Hands-on production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

Role Description: Operation of crane to input raw materials for production. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Operate control panels for raw material preparation.
  • Operate electric and/or propane forklift truck.
  • Operate raw materials monorail for aggregate and powder storage.
  • Follow production recipe to ensure correct raw material quantities.
  • Responsible for detailed cleaning of all required equipment during product color changes.
  • Communicate with other Operators, Assistant Shift Leaders and Shift Leader.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work area.
  • Complete shift paper work.
  • Assist in production as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  Education and Work Experience:

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of basic mixing/batching processes, procedures, and machinery (ex. weighing units, transfer systems, mixing vessels) preferred. This is normally acquired through two to three years of mixing/batching process experience.

  • Ability to identify quality and/or production deficiencies and resolve quickly.

  • Experience in the safe storage and handling of chemicals. Physical Demands:

May encounter the following chemicals:

  • Acetone
  • UPE resin
  • Styrene
  • Silica dust
  • Peroxide
  • Cobalt
  • Silane
  • Powdered pigments
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
  • Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time.
