Job Description:
Shift: Full-Time Nights.
Schedule: 10:45pm-7:15am
Location: AdventHealth Winter Garden

Selects appropriate materials and sterilization packaging for each instrument set, ensuring proper wrapping for aseptic technique.

Ensures sterility indicators and lot stickers are present on all instrument sets and packages.

Operates complex sterilization equipment, selecting the correct method of sterilization based on manufacturer instructions.

Reviews and signs all sterilizer recording charts to verify proper sterilization parameters before releasing items for clinical use.

Monitors sterilizer printouts, maintains records, and documents all requirements in appropriate log books or computer systems.

Properly identifies and segregates reusable items for decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization, selecting appropriate cleaning methods based on manufacturer instructions.

Disassembles and inspects items for damage or missing components, ensuring safe operation of all equipment in the decontamination area.

Accurately assembles instruments, complex instrument sets, and other surgical items, recording information in the computer tracking system or paper instrument count sheet. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]

Understanding of the principles of microbiology, aseptic principles and techniques, and infection control as they apply to sterile supply operation. [Required]
Education:
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
Field of Study:
- Sterile Processing
Work Experience:
- 1+ related experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) [Required] OR
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
$17.11 - $27.38 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening , including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
