What You'll Do

Responsibilities of the EMS Program Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and coordinate program operations, ensuring student success in completion, licensure, and placement.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop instructional staff, including hiring, scheduling, onboarding, evaluation, and performance management.

  • Oversee instructional quality across the program through classroom and lab observation, faculty coaching, and professional development planning.

  • Build and sustain a supportive, professional learning environment for students and staff.

  • Ensure compliance with accreditation, licensure, curriculum standards, and institutional policies.

  • Direct department operations, including budget input, equipment, safety, and supply purchasing.

  • Lead curriculum review and updates, program planning, and advisory committee activities in partnership with industry stakeholders.

  • Facilitate department meetings, staff training, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Partner with campus leadership, admissions, and student services to support enrollment, retention, and placement goals.

  • Teach classroom and lab sessions as program needs require.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking professionals who are passionate about education and leadership. Successful candidates will have:

Education Requirements:A high school diploma is required; an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.

Experience:A minimum of 5 years of related industry experience, including demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or teaching experience. Experience leading teams in a healthcare, emergency services, or educational setting is preferred.

Licensure & Certification:

  • Current Advanced EMT (AEMT) certification in good standing through Utah DPS/BEMS

  • Current National Registry (NREMT) Advanced EMT certification

  • BLS Provider certification, BLS Instructor certification, Course Coordinator certification required within the first 6 months of hire.

Leadership & Communication:Strong ability to lead, coach, and develop a team; communicate effectively; and collaborate with diverse stakeholders including students, faculty, industry partners, and campus leadership.

Organizational & Accountability:Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and program quality.

Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and learning/information systems such as Canvas.
