Monmouth University is seeking applications for On-Call Standardized Patients in the Monmouth University and Monmouth Medical Center Linda Grunin Simulation Lab and Learning Center located at the Monmouth Corporate Park on Route 36 in West Long Branch, New Jersey.

Monmouth University is seeking dedicated and reliable On‑Call Standardized Patients (SPs) to support experiential learning within the Linda Grunin Simulation Lab and Learning Center. SPs play a vital role in helping students across nursing, medicine, physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, social work, and other health professions develop strong clinical and communication skills.

This is an in-person, on campus, non-remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Portray patient roles consistently by memorizing case details such as medical history, symptoms, and behavioral cues.

  • Act in a variety of clinical scenarios to support student learning objectives.

  • Participate in interviews and non‑invasive physical examinations, which may require wearing a patient gown with undergarments underneath while being observed live or on camera.

  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to students regarding communication, professionalism, and clinical interaction.

  • Document evaluations using basic computer skills on an electronic platform.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding case materials, student performance, and evaluation results.

  • Demonstrate reliability and professionalism.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

  • Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

  • Ability to perform all essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training and/or experience in health professions, communication, behavioral sciences, or education.

  • Standardized patient and/or acting training or experience.
