Salary Range: $18.00 To $22.00 Hourly
Turn electrical schematics into finished products that power real-world applications! As a Panel Technician, you'll build and wire custom industrial control panels and OEM equipment alongside a team committed to quality and craftsmanship.
Full-time, on-site.
Monday - Friday. 7 AM - 3:30 PM.
Panel Technician Primary Function
- Build and wire custom industrial control panels as well as OEM products as assigned by the Panel Shop Supervisor, within schedule provided.
$18 - $22/hour

Panel Technician Essential Responsibilities
-
Build Custom Industrial Panels and OEM products meeting delivery dates
-
Work independently with the project folder and design schematics to complete your responsible job.
-
Account for parts required for the job
-
Mechanically layout and mount hardware components.
-
Wire complete panel in accordance with PFT panel procedures, UL508A specifications, and other best practices as given by the panel shop supervisor.

In large project situations work with other technicians in a team effort

Test Custom Industrial Control Panels and OEM Products
-
Point to Point wire tests in accordance with PFT testing procedures
-
Torque check and marking in accordance with PFT procedures
-
Be able to perform and fill out the PFT Panel Final Check list

Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times

Organize and maintain shop tools and equipment
-
Organize and maintain personal tools
-
Organize and maintain your project items and materials
-
Help maintain common shop supplies IE Labels, wire ties, wire, etc.

Assist Apprentices and other Technicians in techniques and procedures
Panel Technician Necessary Qualifications
-
Basic Knowledge of Electrical Theory
-
BOCES Electrical or AS in an Electrical Technology Field preferred
-
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
-
Must be able to follow and understand the PFT Shop Guidelines
-
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
-
Ability to work with other Technicians and Apprentices in a professional manor

Competent with the use of hand tools, i.e. jigsaw, drills, wrenches, screwdrivers

Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter
-
Valid and Clean Driver's License
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to work on elevated platforms

Ability to climb ladders

This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching

You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions

Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery
