RPB Technical Trainer - Casa Grande, AZ

Join our team as an RPB Technical Trainer and play a key role in developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence of our operations workforce. In this position, you will support the day-to-day execution of the site training program, ensuring employees receive effective onboarding, on-the-job training (OJT), and ongoing skills development.

Reporting directly to the Site Senior Training Specialist, you will partner closely with Operations, OpEx, and Learning Mentors to drive training excellence, competency development, and adherence to site training standards.

This role requires a strong operational background, a passion for coaching and development, and the flexibility to support a multi-shift manufacturing environment, including routine presence on off-shifts as needed.

What You’ll Work On

  • Deliver and coordinate on-the-job training (OJT) for employees new to their roles, as well as conduct periodic skills assessments and competency evaluations.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned operational areas, demonstrating proficiency in equipment operation and associated work processes.

  • Ensure new team members receive structured training through direct instruction or assignment to qualified trainers in accordance with site training procedures.

  • Monitor OJT schedules and training completion, supporting Certified Job Trainers and Learning Mentors to maintain compliance with training requirements.

  • Partner with the Site Technical Training Specialist to track training activities, including schedule adherence, cross-training initiatives, employee rotations, and competency progress.

  • Assist in the development, review, and update of training materials, procedures, and One Point Lessons (1PLs).

  • Provide daily guidance, coaching, and feedback to employees in training, reinforcing performance expectations and best practices.

  • Collaborate with operations leadership to develop cross-training matrices, identify skill gaps, and enhance workforce flexibility.

  • Address questions and concerns from new team members regarding training processes, tools, and expectations.

  • Ensure site training tools, documentation, and processes are consistently followed within assigned departments.

  • Conduct and document periodic learning assessments for critical tasks, identifying and addressing competency gaps through corrective actions and development plans.

  • Support the creation and delivery of annual and specialized training programs for operational personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Thorough working knowledge of assigned operational processes and equipment.

  • Ability to independently perform and train others on critical job functions while following established training principles and adult learning practices.

  • Current certifications for all functions and equipment on which hands-on instruction will be provided.

  • Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support training needs across multiple shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment supporting the assigned functional area.

  • Previous experience as a Job Trainer, Learning Mentor, Technical Trainer, or similar training-focused role.

  • Experience developing training materials, conducting competency assessments, and supporting workforce development initiatives.

  • You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
