Description

Outpatient Psychiatry Opportunity – Danbury, Connecticut (60 miles from New York City)

Nuvance Health, formerly Western Connecticut Health Network and now Northwell Health, is seeking a full-time outpatient psychiatrist for our Danbury, Connecticut office. Danbury is located in suburban Fairfield County, Connecticut, about 60 miles northeast of New York City, and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State. Affiliated with Danbury Hospital, our program offers teaching appointments, working with Nuvance Health psychiatry residents and medical students from the University of Vermont as well as a variety of off-shore medical students. Our busy practice is long established with a highly collegial and supportive working environment. This is an outpatient role with limited hospital coverage obligations. Our outpatient work is a hybrid model conducted by tele-health and in-person. Telehealth is an option full or part-time. Opportunity includes sign on bonus and relocation allowance.

The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in psychiatry. This is an employed position with a highly competitive compensation and benefits package, including generous allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses and CME time. Weekend hospital coverage is paid at a highly competitive additional per diem rate.

Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care.  Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. We also have a network wide centralized research department with access to robust clinical research and trials. Our employed Medical Group includes 900+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and offers many regional venues for 4 season outdoor and indoor recreation, including hiking, biking, and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Home to Western Connecticut State University, Danbury has excellent public and private school options and universities as well as a variety of housing options. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train and car.
