Description: This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM), a 63-year-old Program with a long-standing history of Mission Success and of a strong partnership with our Navy Customer! Are you an enthusiastic individual with a strong planning background that can thrive in an exciting fast-paced dynamic environment?

Location: This position does not support teleworking ; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Cape Canaveral FL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

*Please note we will not provide relocation services for this position.


What does this role look like?

As a Hardware Engineer, you will support the LE2 program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong electrical engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future for FBM!


Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

In this dynamic role you will:

  • Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the US Navy’s Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program.

  • Mentor Junior engineers, interface extensively with out customers, as well as senior leadership.

  • Create/update project/process documentation that align to project requirements.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test and verification of our automated test systems, including data review and trending.

  • Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems.

  • Interface with suppliers, customer and internal design teams to provide cost effective and low risk solutions.

  • Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers.

  • Support, as required, Failure Review Board activities through closure.

  • Ability to travel and work at alternate work sites as required, less than 25%.


To be effective in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware

  • 5+ years of professional experience for this role.

  • You will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Hardware development experience

  • Experience with interconnect design

  • Experience leading projects teams and development efforts

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Creo, Windchill, Zuken, Pspice

  • Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement)

  • Issue Tracking experience

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education

  • Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems.

  • Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrate test systems, and experience as Subject Matter Engineer or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated an ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in development of tech products.

  • Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentations

  • Experience troubleshooting System level

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
