Position Purpose:
Perform tasks to assure accurate metering in accordance with Company programs, policies and procedures as well as state and local regulations. Provide prompt, courteous and professional service to our customers by installing, testing, programming and maintaining metering systems consistent with Company policies and management objectives. Progression in accordance with U.W.U.A. Agreement, Local #B340.

Be proficient in repairing, testing, adjusting, maintaining and installing all types of electric meters and associated instrument transformers both in the shop and at customer’s premises. Perform shop testing of all electric meters, including data entry of test results into the CIS and the AMI systems.

Be proficient with the duties of a Meter Technician. Installs all types of metering. Perform the proper programming of (AMI) automatic meter infrastructure meters and (AMR) automatic meter reader devices.

Responsibility for Company Vehicle as established by Company procedure.

Be able to identify damage or tampering to company metering equipment.

Knowledge and safe handling of Company field equipment.

Proficient with company computer based metering programs such as FCS, MV90, CIS, AMI and MDS.
Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Electronics Technology or company acknowledged equivalent.

Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Maintain a valid license based on the requirements of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or the State where the employee resides.

Know the company Safety Rules and Company Policies and procedures. Be familiar with the Company’s Tariff and the DPU rules and regulations for electricservice..

Be available to respond to overtime work, trouble calls, and system emergencies as requested

Reside within a specified geographical area as defined by the collective bargaining agreement.
THIS NOTICE IS POSTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE XI OF OUR AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL UNION #B340, BROTHERHOOD OF UTILITY WORKERS OF NEW ENGLAND, DATED June 1, 2022.
HOURS: Hours shall be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
WAGE: Ultimate rate - $51.29 per hour, for a 40 hour week. Overtime rates in accordance with UWUA Agreement, Local #B340.
