Job Title

Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer – Electrical Systems

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Engineer to support electrical and electronic systems within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on improving product quality, resolving electrical wiring issues, supporting warranty investigations, leading root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first line of support for vehicle quality issues related to electrical wiring and electronic systems.

  • Provide on-site engineering support for warranty concerns, first-time-through (FTT) performance, ergonomics, quality campaigns, and product audits.

  • Support warranty claim analysis and daily issue triage using internal quality systems.

  • Analyze warranty data, production metrics, and related information to identify emerging quality issues.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

  • Develop and implement interim containment actions (ICA) and permanent corrective actions (PCA).

  • Prepare and present structured problem-solving documentation using methodologies such as 8D, A3, 5 Why, and Fishbone analysis.

  • Present technical findings and project updates during quality review meetings.

  • Lead variability reduction activities for assigned electrical subsystems.

  • Perform complex vehicle diagnostics and resolve electrical issues identified during production or final inspection.

  • Support assigned product launches while coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams.

  • Manage engineering concerns and support design changes and production implementation activities.

  • Communicate project status and daily activities effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple manufacturing locations to identify and resolve common quality issues.

  • Lead plant trials supporting quality improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and supplier-related enhancements.

  • Support design standardization and best practice implementation across multiple programs.

  • Participate in pre-build activities and support new model launches and system implementations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Development, Quality Engineering, Program Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering within a fast-paced automotive environment.

  • Experience with electrical wiring systems.

  • Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience with circuit design.

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
