Full job description
The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, MD seeks to hire a PT (20 hours/week) drama teacher beginning with the 2026/2027 year. KTS is a private special education school serving students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities and/or high functioning autism. The elementary/middle school program includes classes for K-8th grade. Hours are 8:30am - 4:15pm. EOE
Responsibilities include:

Implement content area curricula

Provide necessary accommodations to meet individual, group and program needs

Implement IEPs

Create a supportive learning environment

Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Create partnerships with parents and the Katherine Thomas School Community

Create fun and engaging lessons
Part-time 10-month salary range of $31,000 to $42,000, depending on experience and level of education.
Must be able to work in the US, no sponsorship available.
Required Experience for the Drama Teacher:

Bachelor's degree in special education or content area (Drama)

Must be licensed or able to be licensed as a special educator in Maryland-- this includes completing a program leading to licensure

Experience working with students with learning disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or other health impairments preferred
