Location: Harvard Square
About Lovepop:
Nobody walks into Lovepop for paper. They walk in with somebody on their mind — a mom, a best friend, a partner, a colleague retiring — and your job is to help them nail that moment. When a card opens in someone's hands for the first time, something happens. We call it the gasp. Creating that moment, one guest at a time, is the whole job.
Our Harvard Square store sits in one of the most foot-trafficked corridors in the city. We need someone who can pull curious passersby off the sidewalk, build real conversations, and turn browsers into buyers — especially on the weekends, when the Square fills up with people who came to explore, not necessarily to shop. That's not a challenge. That's an opportunity, if you know how to work it.
What You'll Do:
You'll run the MAGIC method — Meet, Ask, Give, Inspire, Celebrate — on every guest who walks through the door:
- Greet every guest within seconds, warmly and genuinely — eyes first, then words, never "Can I help you?"
- Ask great open questions before you ever reach for a card — who are they shopping for, what's the occasion?
- Put product in their hands and let them open it — the gasp is yours to create
- Recommend with a reason, not a pitch — two or three options, each tied to what the guest told you
- Ask for the sale — every interaction gets a close
- Offer one honest add-on while you wrap — the Basket Close is the most effective line in this store
- Shift into Rush Mode when a guest has minutes to spare — occasion, person, three choices, one reveal, close
- Run the hourly Bloom Sweep to keep the store stage-ready and win the walkway
- Know the slicegami™ origin story cold — it's what turns an impulse visit into a meaningful purchase On occasion, we may ask you to float to our Prudential Center location for unexpected coverage. Flexibility is a plus — and a great way to sharpen your skills in a different environment.
You're Responsibilities:
We track the metrics that tell us how the floor is performing: Conversion (% of guests who buy), UPT (units per transaction), and AOV (average order value). You'll know your numbers every shift and set your own targets. Strong associates here don't wait for traffic to come to them — they create it. Every sale starts with a connection, and every connection starts with you.
What We're Looking For:
- A natural conversationalist who asks more than they tell and genuinely listens
- Competitive and self-aware — you care about your numbers and know your why
- Energized by a busy Saturday full of browsers, not worn down by it
- Able to read the room — from a slow Tuesday to a Valentine's Day Rush Mode
- Experience in retail, hospitality, or any guest-facing sales role preferred
- Able to stand for 4+ hours; lift up to 30 lbs
- Hungry — the kind of person who raises the Awesome Bar™ every shift, not just on peak days Certification:
New associates complete The Bloom Standard — Lovepop's two-part selling certification. Part one is the Bloom Test (20-question scenario quiz). Part two is Bloom Live (six observed role-plays plus one live guest interaction, manager sign-off required). No solo floor shifts until both are complete.
What We Offer:
- Starting wage: $20/hr
- 20–31 hours per week | Weekday and weekend shifts (typically 6+ hours)
- Flexible scheduling
- Three complimentary Lovepop cards per month
- Employee discount
- Career path: Seedling → Sprout → Bloomer → Florist One More Thing:
Harvard Square is a destination. Our guests come from everywhere — tourists, locals, Harvard students and faculty, people in the middle of the best and hardest moments of their lives. The associate who thrives here is genuinely moved by what Lovepop makes and what it means to the people who give it.
If that's you — if you actually want to be in the gasp business — we want to hear from you. Lovepop's mission is one billion magical moments. Yours count toward it, every shift.
