Amergis Staffing is skill-marketing an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to the Medical Therapy Unit (MTU) within Sacramento County Public Health. This role supports population-level health initiatives and may involve patient-facing and non-patient-facing work across multiple public health programs.

Position Overview

The OT will support therapeutic services within the MTU and may collaborate with teams across Sexual Health Clinic and TB Chest Clinic worksites. Candidates must be comfortable with mask fit testing and adhering to strict PPE protocols when required.

Assignment Details

Modality: Occupational Therapist Openings: 2 Schedule: Flexible (no preset shift schedule provided) Hours: 40 per week Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 08/31/2026 Interview: Phone or in-person depending on hiring manager Charting System: None Timekeeping: MaxView Timeclock

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide OT services within the MTU

  • Support patient-facing and non-patient-facing workflows

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary public health teams

  • Maintain compliance with PPE requirements (N95 fit testing)

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care

Required Qualifications

  • Active OT license – Required

  • BLS – Required

  • Mask fit test required for Sexual Health Clinic and TB Chest Clinic worksites

  • Open to OTs with any experience level

Facility Overview

Sacramento County Public Health provides population-level services including disease prevention, vaccination programs, maternal/child health, communicable disease control, and community health initiatives. The focus is on public health outcomes rather than individual diagnosis-based care.

Compensation

Local OT – Contract Hourly Pay: $60 Estimated Weekly Pay Package: $2,400

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for performing client evaluations, developing and providing occupational therapy services, and documenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each patient.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of practice

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school or program of Occupational Therapy

  • One (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
