At Lambert’s Cable, as an Underground Construction Superintendent on our team, this position will oversee productivity and quality of work on daily operations and projects of multiple crews. In addition, this position coordinates with the Supervisor or Outside Plant Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

  • You will coordinate jobs with outside services, such as subcontractors, and management

  • You will organize equipment, material and labor to complete project in a timely manner

  • You will verify accuracy of locates, materials, and billings

  • You will call in or email locates as needed

  • You will complete change orders, following procedures, including passing information on to contract administrators and billing department

  • You will monitor production reports

  • You will complete final asbuilts and tab sheet of units placed

  • You will complete redlining processes

  • You will support Supervisors and Foreman to monitor and enforce all company and outside required safety policies and procedures

  • You will assist supervisors in the management and retention of new and existing employees

  • You will monitor and complete the necessary paperwork regarding employee accidents and injuries, in conjunction with the Safety Department

  • You will maintain and properly document DOT paperwork if required

  • You will review for accuracy, approve, and submit employee time-cards for processing

  • You will manage materials using a spreadsheet

  • You will perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

  • You will need prior supervisor experience

  • You will need knowledge of quality processes and safety programs

  • You will need the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • You will need the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, distance, proportions

  • You will need the ability to apply reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions that are written, spoken or provided as diagrams or prints

  • You will need knowledge of proper installation processes

  • You will need knowledge of Internet software, project management software, spreadsheet software and word processing software is required

  • You will need to maintain a current DOT health card certificate

  • You will need to maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

  • You will need to be will to travel as required
