Full job description

At Numeric, we’re building the modern data platform for accounting and finance.

We’re building the financial platform that realizes the dream of live, rich, trustworthy data and insights for companies to drive decision-making & execution.

Among our hundreds of customers are Anthropic, Notion, Brex, OpenAI, Cursor, Plaid, Wealthfront, Mercury, Figma, and Asana.

We raised a $51M Series B in late 2025. We’re backed by IVP, Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, 8VC, et all. as well as founders and executives from Ramp, Segment, and more.

Why Numeric?

Accounting is a massive, growing data problem . Every business would like to ground their decisions, strategy, and analysis in rich, up-to-date information. Financial data, however, is poor, fragmented, delayed, and lacking context; the accounting work to bring it together is tedious and error-prone. To fix this requires foundational changes in accounting and in the broader finance function.

We are addressing these problems at their root by building the infrastructure and product experiences to ingest events, transform them, match value movement, project interpretations, and report against our unified graph of financial data. We’re applying principles of software engineering and data systems to scale accounting.

We tackle the hard problems. Accounting does not need more duct tape.

We’ve rethought the field—its primitives, assumptions, and practices—while staying grounded by working closely with our customers. As engineers, we do our homework. We study the domain and talk to our users, and by doing so we earn the right to bring a fresh perspective to the problem of financial data.

The Role

Our Dev Platform team accelerates and empowers the rest of the company to build and ship confidently on shared patterns.

You’ll build the systems that accelerate development internally. This includes our in-house tooling for remote development environments, various internal tools and networking, shared AI tools, and more.

This is a role that requires proactive agency: you’re an experienced engineer with a generalist skill set. You’re excited to seek out opportunities to up-level the rest of the org, have the knowledge & creativity to think of multiple solutions to a problem, and have the judgment to decide what’s a good fit given the people and context of the organization.

You might be a fit if…

  • You have the experience and knowledge of infrastructure and networking to design solutions, and the wisdom to keep things simple

  • You have intuition and opinions about developer loops and developer experience

  • You take a customer-mindset in testing and gathering feedback on what you build for others

  • You enjoy teaching

What you need

  • 7+ years of experience building software

  • Experience with AWS

  • Confidence with general topics of networking, security, infrastructure, etc.

Bonus

  • Expertize and a substantial track record in building systems for testing, especially for data-rich environments

  • Your own AI development workflow is advanced

Location: Vancouver, BC

Compensation: 210,000 to 320,000 CAD
